Thacher Winery
The “KR” on the Thacher Ranch barn is a well-known landmark of old time Paso Robles. The Kentucky Ranch, home of the Thacher vineyard and gardens, was part of a 4,000 acre Spanish Land Grant until 1869 after which it became a thriving horse breeding operation. The vineyard was planted in Spring of 2007, and consists of Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. Since 1993 Sherman Thacher has been making wine professionally in the Santa Cruz Mountains and in Paso Robles.

From the Je T’aime Vineyard in Paso Robles, this wine is a more elegant Zinfandel and has a nose of spicy black pepper and allspice. The palate reminds you of ripe dark cherries.
