Zinfandel
Recent research from UC Davis has confirmed that Zinfandel is indeed a red wine grape originating from Croatia. Brought to California in the mid 1800's, it is produced as both "red" Zinfandel and "white" Zinfandel. The red version of Zinfandel yields flavors of raspberry, blackberry, licorice, cinnamon, smoke, and sweet wood.
J Dusi

Nadeau Zinfandel The Bouncer 2006
Nadeau
The Nadeau Family Vintners’ 2006 “Bouncer” Zinfandel is another big, blockbuster Zin. A boorish brute of a Zin, this wine is a blend of the Zins from the West side of the Paso Robles appellation. Big fruit aromas and flavors framed with just a subtle hint of American Oak make this one a very interesting wine.

Thacher Winery
From the Je T’aime Vineyard in Paso Robles, this wine is a more elegant Zinfandel and has a nose of spicy black pepper and allspice. The palate reminds you of ripe dark cherries.

Turley Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard 2007
Turley
A rich, layered nose offers up a complex mixture of Paso Robles Zin-berry fruit with hints of cinnamon, clove, baking spices, orange zest and Sweet Tarts. Great depth and firm, lively acidity give this wine backbone and verve; a solid, well structured core. On the finish, fine cracked white pepper, freshly picked wild berries and a touch of French oak seal the deal.
