Tannat
Tannat is a red wine grape grown primarily in Uruguay and southwestern France. It is still quite rare in the United States, but has proven successful in the Paso Robles terroir and climate. In France, it is typically blended with Cabernet Sauvignon or Cabernet Franc, but can also be enjoyed as a single varietal. It is noted for high tannins balanced by smoke and plum flavors.
