Adelaida Red Rhone Version 2006
Adelaida Cellars
Robert Parker notes "the sexy 2006 Version Proprietary Red (38% Mourvedre, 28% Syrah, 22% Grenache, and tiny amounts of Counoise and Cinsault) offers seductive notes of kirsch liqueur, black currants, forest floor, loamy soil, pepper, and spice. This Mediterranean-styled red is broad, full-bodied, and savory without a hard edge to be found. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. It is an excellent bargain for a wine of this quality."

Tasting Notes
Version '06 emphasizes a meaty, fine leather aromatic, with lively, cool climate blueberry fruit character, leading to a complex finish of white pepper and fine Havana cigar wrapper. Characteristic of the house style, this wine will improve over the next 12-18 months, as the diverse elements gain harmony, otherwise impatient wine drinkers will be rewarded by decanting for 30 minutes.

Jacob Toft Mary Jane's Cuvee 2004
Robert Parker notes that "this soft, expansive blend of 50% Syrah, 45% Mourvedre, and 5% Grenache is meant to be a Paso Robles-styled Cotes du Rhone. Its deep ruby hue is accompanied by attractive peppery, earthy, underbrush, black currant, and cherry characteristics. The fine aromatics, good entry on the palate, and decent finish suggest it will drink well for 2-3 years."
